Principal

"I believe that every person is a great person with the capacity for growth and change, and that every person deserves a second chance."

Maya Angelou

It is with great excitement and anticipation that I introduce myself as the new principal of Desert Valley High School, Renaissance and Adult Education. As I step into this role, I want to take a moment to share a little about myself and my vision for our school community.

Having spent 18 years in education, I am both honored and thrilled to join this vibrant and dedicated community. My background includes being a classroom teacher for ten years and a High School Administrator for eight years overseeing various programs such as attendance and working closely with outside agencies to better support our students. I am passionate about fostering an environment where every student can thrive, feel valued, and reach their full potential.

At Desert Valley, Renaissance and our Adult Education programs, we are committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where students are inspired to learn and grow. Our goal is to build on the strong foundation laid by previous leaders and work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and the community to achieve excellence in education. I believe that education is a partnership, and together, we can create the best possible experience for our students.

In the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting with parents, guardians, and community members to listen to your thoughts and ideas. Your input is invaluable as we work together to support the academic and personal growth of our students.

Thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful community. I am enthusiastic about the journey ahead and am confident that, together, we will make  our students not only succeed academically but also develop the skills and values that will serve them throughout their lives.

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, or ideas. I am here to support you and ensure that we achieve great things together.

Warm regards,

Mr. Martin Leyva
